Beautiful sunrise. It is so frustrating that a camera cannot capture the beauty that the human eye beholds.
We were almost first to leave this morning and proceeded to drive along the coastline. We stopped at Lookout 2.
We did the biggest day of driving today, taking advantage of the fact we gained 2 1/2 hours going west. We had no problem getting through the quaratine station on the border and then passed though to Eucla a few kilometres down the road. Towns like Eucla are really just a service station and roadhouse. We had met a couple yesterday that also had an Avan and we kept running into them all along the journey today. They live in Western Australia and were keen to advise us the best places to go. We drove through Madura and had lunch at Cocklebiddy.
Then on through Caiguna which is the start of longest straight stretch of road in Australia. At Balladonia we met our new friends again and we agreed to meet at Frazer Range caravan park for the night. We were feeling very pleased with ourselves at our long drive today We were early enough to set up and chill out a bit and then went and had some wine with Sue and Colin. We chatted to another couple with an AVAN as well and there lots of avan discussion and laughs. For tea we opted to buy dinner being offered by the caravan camp. Very nice tea finished by homemade sticky date pudding. By 9am we were exhausted as in reality it was midnight and we had been up since 6am
