Released from Broken Hill

We got up early to do a walk just out of Broken Hill called the Sundown Nature Trail. It was only a couple of hours and it gave us good vistas of the arid countryside and of the city of Broken Hill.

Then suddenly a message came through from Trent at Subaru. They had discovered what the problem with the car was and it was fixed and we could leave! We were excited though a little sceptical that it was true due to our past experiences. We however finished the walk, had our bacon and egg roll for breakfast at a cafe as promised and then quickly packed and headed off with great caution, fully expecting the car to fail again. But lo and behold it went well.  It was quite a stressful trip as every little noise made us think we were about to break down again. A little disconcerting as we soon would be on the Nullarbor Plain.

But we motored along nicely for the afternoon. We stopped at Peterborough to take a photo for our friends Patrick and Margaret who live near Peterborough in the UK.
We made it to our overnight stop at Wilmington. We had to pinch ourselves we were finally gone from Broken Hill. At least now if we break down we will be towed to Adelaide which will solve the problem of how to pick up the loan car
