No relaxing this morning and we were away by 8.30. Wonderful vistas of the Hammersley Ranges wrapped right around us. Amazing folding of rocks. Gentle growth of green on a most of the hills. Looks like velvet in places.
Called into the Information centre. Beautifully presented exhibition of the history of the Area.
Arrived at Dales Campground around 10am and got set up quickly.

We started off by checking out the lookouts for the Circular Pools and the Dales Gorge.

We then walked gown into the gorge and the views were spectacular.
We walked further to the Fern Pool which was further on. It is not widely publicised because it is an Aboriginal site. There was a sign asking people to be quiet and not disrespectful but people weren't really taking any notice.
The pool was cold and lovely. We swam around and sat under the waterfall for a while. I got bitten by a yabbi I think.
We then came back to Fortescue Falls. This pool was great as well.
We spent some time back at Fortescue Falls and then walked back up the steep stairs.
It was nice to finish up early today. Got time to have an early wash and a read before making tea.
Awesome place to cook tea
