The name of this place says it all. By the end of yesterday afternoon we were so relaxed we were virtually not moving. And today it has carried over with Geoff just being happy with one activity for the day- a visit to the Valley of the Giants.
It's easy to be awe-struck by the towering forests of giant red tingle trees, which grow as high as 40 metres which are unique to the Walpole wilderness areas. We got a bird's eye view of these sky-scraping trees in the Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk and saw their massive, gnarled trunks on the Ancient Empires boardwalk below. Many of the trees were over 400 years old.

Many of these ancient trees had these sections missing. The trees can get a natural occurring disease which kills the centre of the tree. The next time there is a fire it catches the dead wood and eats it up, stopping at the unaffected wood. See next picture.
After we finished here we found a beautiful little bakery and had an awesome coq au vin pie. Yum!
In the afternoon we found somewhere with good internet and caught up on some admin stuff we had needed to do.
